G. Schneider & Sohn

A powerful, complex and incredibly full-bodied Icebock from the brewery G. Schneider & Sohn, created on the basis of the legendary wheat bock Aventinus. This variety owes its emergence to a happy accident. Until the 1940s, Aventinus was transported around Bavaria in containers without temperature control. To prevent it from spoiling, it was partially frozen, which separated the water from the wort and made the beer more concentrated. This is how the unique, stronger version of Aventinus was created, although it was never produced as a separate brew. Schneider's brewer, Hans Peter Drexler, knowing this story, decided to recreate this “accidental” masterpiece sixty years later using modern technology.

Flavor Features

The beer is characterized by a full, soft and warming taste, which harmoniously combines sweet but not cloying shades of dark fruits (plums, cherries, figs), sweet spices (vanilla, cloves), candied fruits, as well as nuances of caramel, banana, raisins, dark bread and flowers. The aftertaste is long, without bitterness. The aroma of the drink is rich in malty notes, as well as hints of dark fruits, spices, toasted oak, cloves, wheat, banana and toast.

Gastronomic combinations

Beer will be a perfect digestif after a hearty dinner. It will also perfectly complement such desserts as Suzette crepes, profiteroles with chocolate sauce, tiramisu. Schneider Weisse Aventinus Eisbock Tap 09 can also be served with parmesan cheese.
